Blackberry Smoke & Mike Campbell and The Dirty Knobs at Skyla Credit Union Amphitheatre

American rock ‘n’ roll torchbearers unite this summer in a special co-headlining tour that will turn the state of classic rock on its head! Presenting Blackberry Smoke & Mike Campbell and The Dirty Knobs, this nationwide double bill event will tackle 10 city stops from Tennessee to North Carolina across July and August, mounting one of 2025’s most-awaited collaborations in concert. The jaunt will kick off to cheers and reverb in Nashville, running stateside borders until, six shows later, it finds its North Carolina mark at the Skyla Credit Union Amphitheatre, featuring guest Shannon McNally on Friday, August 8th.

Headlining band Blackberry Smoke is the herald of the 21st-century Southern rock template, incorporating notes of bluegrass, R&B, and gospel to separate itself from the pack of their fellow Lynyrd Skynyrd-inspired tastemakers. Their contribution to this jamfest is rooted in a hardy eight-part history of Top 10 Country Albums, including back-to-back No. 1s with 2015’s Holding All the Roses and 2016’s Like An Arrow. Fronted by the inestimable Charlie Starr, the group offers classic Southern rock anthems like “Sleeping Dog” and “One Horse Town.” Their hit singles span a swaggering range with the Triple-A runaway “Pretty Little Lie,” “Waiting for the Thunder, and “A Little Bit Crazy” from their latest studio effort, Be Right Here.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame guitarist Mike Campbell and his band — The Dirty Knobs — share a “rougher-edged” tune relative to Campell’s run with Tom Petty, showing influences from ‘60s British rock visionaries such as Led Zeppelin. Their catalog began in 2020 on Wreckless Abandon, which notched their first crowd-pleasers as a group, “Irish Girl” and “Pistol Packin’ Mama.” They also present music off their new album, Vagabonds, Virgins & Misfits, featuring the hit “Dare to Dream,” plus External Combustion (2022), underlining grungy, “foot-tapping” tracks like “Wicked Mind” and “Electric Gypsy.” Singer-songwriter Shannon McNally performs in support through her alternative country melodies, soulful with shades of blues and rock in the wistfully timeless “Pale Moon,” “Banshee Moan,” and “Geronimo.”
