Yungblud released his debut album 21st Century Liability in 2018. The album spawned several iconic hits, including the title track, “Psychotic Kids,” and “California.” The following year, Yungblud made his breakthrough in the US when he released a collaborative single “11 Minutes” with Halsey. That same year, Yungblud along with Blink 182’s Travis Barker were featured in MGK’s first pop rock single, “I Think I’m Okay.” The song peaked at number 3 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart. In 2020, Weird! came out and topped the UK chart. It’s also the first time Yungblud’s album charted within the US Billboard’s Top Rock charts and Billboard 200, peaking at numbers 10 and 75. Two years later, Yungblud’s “Tissue” went viral in the US, hence the self-titled third album sent the record charting at number 7 on the US chart. Meanwhile, it was topping all the charts and breaking records in the UK and the rest of Europe.
