The nine-year hiatus of Yellowcard is finally coming to an end after their newest album, Better Days, clinched the top spot on alternative rock radio. Frontman Ryan Key shared their enthusiasm for the warm welcome for their comeback, saying, “We are completely blown away by basically everything that is happening in our lives right now.” This summer, it’s the turn of fans to be blown away during the Up Up Down Down Tour, where they will experience euphoric evenings of music that merge the magic of violin, guitar, and impeccable vocals. The band also couldn’t be prouder of their new material, which feels like two decades of progress for them.

Yellowcard took the world to Ocean Avenue during their days of conquering MTV. The band was formed at the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in 1997 when the members were schoolmates, and soon, the band was heard all over the radio and seen on MTV. They have been certified double platinum and platinum in the country by the Recording Industry Association of America, or RIAA, while their hits Only One and Lights and Sounds were also certified gold. Now in the second act of their career, the band made sure to secure excellent tracks by working with other popular artists like Avril Lavigne and Travis Barker. Influenced by the style of Nirvana, Coldplay, and the Foo Fighters, their successful mixing of pop-punk, alternative rock, and hardcore punk elements with the delicate sound of the violin continues to make them stand out in the industry.
